Welcome to Obuse!
There is a song which says "How happy the month of May, the plants come into bud (moe, in Japanese)," but lately things have been more like "Akiba is moe." However, I think that as society matures more cutting-edge information and values will be born from the realm of the otaku. To exaggerate a bit, Akiba is not simply a tourist spot, but an important center of Japan's competitiveness. Once foreign understanding of Japan and Japanese deepens, perhaps Jinbocho will become the next center.
But in Obuse the budding plants combined with the sunny May weather makes for a wonderful season. The rows of blossoming cherry trees along the banks of the Chikuma River by the Joshin-Etsu Expressway with the fresh green background of willows and such give you the feeling of walking through a brand new scenic location for cherry blossoms every Golden Week when the flowers bloom.
Welcome to Spring Obuse.
